Bedfordshire’s police and crime commissioner, Festus Akinbusoye, has been appointed the national lead for the ‘Prevention’ portfolio by the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC).
The national prevention lead is responsible for ensuring that early intervention and prevention of crime is the primary strategy and focus for policing priorities across the country.
The commissioner said:
“I’m very honoured to have been appointed as the National Portfolio Lead for Prevention. I’ll be working closely with Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) and Chief Constables across the country to ensure we’re all working with local partners to protect vulnerable people at risk of becoming victims of crime in the first place.”
